WOULDN'T YOU LIKE TO VOLUNTEER?

Generally speaking, each therapeutic rider requires three volunteers -- one to lead the horse and one sidewalker on each side of the horse and rider for safety and to help the instructor as needed.  Some of our riders do not require all three helpers but volunteers are needed for each class.
Some volunteers may prefer to work more with the horses.  Our therapeutic horses need grooming at the beginning of each class day; and, the proper tack must be set with each horse before every class and individually for each rider.
These are great opportunities to make a significant investment in the lives and well being of Miracle Meadows clients and horses.

why do I volunteer?

It is seeing a transformation take place right before my eyes.  It is seeing and believing in the miracles all around us.  A hug, a smile and seeing a rider ride tall and proud oblivious to their daily challenges fills me with so much more than I could ever hope to give.

Volunteers donate countless hours ensuring both the horses and riders are ready for each other.  They save countless dollars in program expenses which would have to be paid by the riders and their families.

"Miracle Meadows has been a positive experience for my special needs child in many ways.  She's trying something I would normally never even attempt with her.  As a parent, most of the time you don't even consider enrolling your special needs kid in 'normal' activities: instructors/coaches/etc most often don't have the extra time and patience needed to effectively integrate a special needs kid into a mainstream activity.  The child becomes a burden and a miserable time is had by all.  But not so at Miracle Meadows.  Patience coupled with encouragement and lots of smiles have been the names of the game.  It's a joy to announce, "It's time to go to horseback riding!" and a joy to see the smile and immediate rush to get into the car.  Miracle Meadows has been a great experience for my daughter."
